Safe Disposal

Assets that are unable to be re-used or repaired must be disposed of safely. Failure to do so can result in hefty fines and potentially damaging legal issues. Not only must companies comply with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards that govern the disposal of technology equipment, many industries must also comply with HIPAA laws that govern the control of patient records or PCI (Payment Card Industry) standards concerning credit information.

Vantage Point can help. We dispose and recycle according to EPA standards and we are in the process of gaining the internationally recognized e-Stewards Certification. That means we promise to recycle in a socially responsible manner and we answer to an accredited third-party board that audits us, giving you 100% confidence that we are doing what we say we are doing with your equipment.

Best of all, we do in house what many of our competitors outsource – de-manufacturing. De-manufacturing is what happens when reuse or refurbishment of equipment is not an option. Typically a vendor would take out all components and send to various processing plants. Plastic would go to a plastic refinery; motherboards go to a commercial grade grinder, etc.  With Vantage Point, we handle this process in house and that means we can guarantee that your asset tags or any identifiable marks of your equipment will never leave our facility in any recognizable form.
